This unique 3rd Georgia monument is located in downtown Union Point, Georgia. Union Point is just a few miles down the road from Greensboro and is on the main railroad, probably explaining why a reunion was held there. When the monument was erected, this area was the local fairgrounds, but in the 1890's a factory was located there that made socks. A sock factory is still located there (the modern enterprise is the Chipman-Union Company).
