Greve Drummond Harwell

Greve Drummond Harwell was born May 30, 1843 in Putnam County Georgia, the son of Ishmael Finney Harwell and Ophelia Grinnell Harwell. He enlisted on April 21, 1861 with the Georgia Volunteers, Co. D, 3rd. Regiment and was stationed at Gosport Navy Yard, Virginia as a private. He was wounded and captured at Gettysburg on July 02, 1863, parolled at Point Lookout, Maryland on February 18, 1865 and separated at James River, Virginia on February 21, 1865. He returned to Putnam County Georgia to marry Sarah Eugenia Reid on February 10, 1869. Greve and Jenne were parents to six children. Greve died on August 12,1911 and is buried in the Westview Cemetery of Atlanta, Georgia.
