My great great grandfather was Nathan Jackson Etheredge. He was from Wilkinson County Georgia and enlisted on 4/26/1861 as a private. He mustered into F Co. He was captured at Deep Bottm Run Va. on 8/16/1864 and exchanged 3/14/1865. He was probably held at Point Lookout, Maryland prison camp.

He married Elizabeth Hobby in 1859. Their farm was in the path of Shermans march to the sea and the story goes that Sherman's men took all the farm animals leaving 1/2 a pig and one chicken for great grandma. After the war they moved to near Abilene, Texas and Nathan became a circuit preacher. They raised two daughters, Mary Caroline and Ella Virginia. Nathan Etheredge died October 1919.
