3rd Georgia Volunteer Infantry

A Member Organization of the North-South Skirmish Association

The 3rd Georgia has been a part of the North-South Skirmish Association (N-SSA) for almost a quarter of a century now. The members of the 3rd Georgia are "Skirmishers." Skirmishers fire live ammunition in individual and team marksmanship matches using original and reproduction Civil War military-issue firearms such as revolvers, carbines and rifle muskets in different classes of competition.

If you want to participate in one of the most colorful and exciting forms of marksmanship competition anywhere around and "live history" in your Confederate Uniform, the 3rd Georgia has a few vacancies!

In Fond Memory

The tombstone of "Johnny Reb" Hathaway, a member of the 3rd Georgia.

Johnny is buried in the Confederate Section of the cemetery in Eatonton, Georgia. Johnny was a true friend, a wonderful companion, a dedicated skirmisher and a fine Southern Gentleman. We miss him very much.
